Just as the annual rhythm occurs, the seasonal rhythm happens naturally and in direct relation with what nature provides us. With the arrival of each season the outdoor environment changes, the colours and smells, the plants, the food, and all of this relates directly with the internal vital sate of the children. The smaller the child the more they are connected to all that surrounds them. In this way the educator brings to the classroom the reflection of this external world so that the child can recognize it in their interior.
In the Waldorf Kindergarten the experiences of each season lasts around four weeks. During each season there is the telling of the same story, the same rhythmic circle, and the same aesthetic of the class and interior of the Kindergarten which are both decorated by songs, features, colours, forms and that which Nature offers in each season of the year. This allows the children to deepen their experiences and helps them integrate what is happening around them and within themselves.
Searching for a way to find the nature of a child in their first years, the Waldorf Kindergarten introduces Rhythm and Repetition as structural pillars for the healthy growth of a child. Once we know what we can create, the true essence of a human being reveals itself.
