We also have a weekly rhythm. This is defined on one hand by the daily meals which are related to the rhythm that each day of the week has and on the other hand the weekly rhythm is defined by experiences which repeat each day of the week. These experiences could include watercolours, beeswax modelling., carpentry, bread-making and other culinary activities, cleanup and organizing of the classroom, outdoor excursions, activities with wool, eurythmy and others.
This flexible and regular rhythm gives the children security and the possibility to experience something known again, but with a new perspective. We believe that through repetition the child has the possibility to understand themselves a little more and, once they are familiar with the materials, they find greater creativity and artistic expression inside themselves. Allowing a child to come back to a known material allows the child to recognize themselves.
Through the experience of this rhythm the child finds the serenity of recognizing the familiar and creating space for the new.
